Other Services

We can provide a number of other services, some of which are provided at no cost with our Standard Hosting Package:

Email

You can have up to 10 or even more vanity email addresses with your domain. Vanity email addresses are email addresses @your.domain.com and are forwarded to your "real" address. You can also purchase email accounts that are based on our server. Any email that comes through our server is heavily filtered for the following: pornographic/objectionable phrases; unsolicited bulk email from a variety of senders; attachments of all kinds except .sit, .hqx, .pdf, .zip, .txt, and a few other types; and unknown email addresses. If you have special requirements, we can lift the filtering for email you receive from specific sources. Otherwise we block as much junk as we can.

Logging

Our server keeps real-time traffic graphs and user statistics, error logs (from broken URLs on your site), and referrer URLs (to see who links to your site including search engines). We can also set up monthly server log analysis for a setup fee.

Custom CGIs

We can write custom CGIs. Our CGIs are fast. We will help you develop the specifications for your CGI and do the coding and testing. Fill out our custom programming inquiry form for a quote. We prefer to host the CGIs that we write, and will provide a lower development cost in return for a term hosting agreement. If you want to take your CGI to another server, bear in mind that our CGIs ONLY run on MacOS WebStar 4.x servers.

Miscellaneous

We can set up a site search for you. Every account receives an ftp account if needed. [Note: it is expected that your web site space will be used for web pages and related files, not for (1) long-term archiving of files, (2) storing and transferring files, and (3) allowing other people to store files there. We do nightly backups of all your files to a separate storage device and maintain archives of changes files for a month at a time.
